- Novell expands Certified NetWare Engineer program
- New Enterprise CNE Certification Added In Response To Customer Needs
-
- PROVO, Utah -- Dec 2, 1991 -- Novell today announced an expanded Certified
- NetWare Engineer (CNE) program that adds a new level of CNE certification
- which will be known as the Enterprise Certified NetWare Engineer (ECNE).
- The changes, which take effect on February 1, 1992, allow CNEs to become
- experts in the specialized aspects of networking that are necessary to
- manage large enterprise networking environments.
-
- "Because today's networks have become increasingly sophisticated and
- complex, CNEs need additional training to help users take full advantage of
- networking services and technologies to solve their computing problems, "
- said Carolyn Rose, director of education. "The new program enables CNEs to
- focus on the aspects of enterprise networking that are essential to their
- specific customers, while continuing to provide quality networking
- support."
-
- "We intend to keep the CNE program vital and dynamic by adding courses and
- certification criteria," said Mary Burnside, executive vice president of
- corporate services. "In addition, Novell will continue to help grow the
- network computing industry by working with organizations such as LANDA to
- provide additional education and certification that meet the needs of the
- changing marketplace."
-
- Through the new certification program, customers who employ their own staff
- of CNEs will be able to choose the certification path that is best suited
- to their particular business. Though it is not a channel requirement,
- NetWare Platinum and Gold resellers can employ ECNEs with certification in
- areas that best suit the needs of their target market. These changes will
- strengthen the reseller channel, and enable resellers to provide better
- support for their customers. Novell will actively promote ECNE status
- through marketing support in the industry.
